BML#54 in the Belfast yard.

BML#54, a GE 70-ton deisel electric locomotive built in 1948, about to take an excursion train from Belfast to Waldo Station. Note that because the B&ML uses cars built both in the United States and Sweden, that the locomotive is fitted with couplers for both North American and European standards. General Electric built 238 of these B-B 140/140, 600HP Cooper-Bessemer powered 70-ton yard switchers between 1946 and 1958 at its shops in Erie, PA. This locomotive was acquired by the B&ML from the Berlin Mills Railway in New Hampshire.
