Part of the collection of rolling stock at the CPCRR Musuem, City Point, ME

A view of just a part of the collection of historic rolling stock at the City Point Central Railroad Museum's private train yard located on a turnout from the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad's main line at City Point, ME, at MP 2.16 out from Belfast, ME. The historic station house just visible in the distance was built by the Maine Central in the early 1870's as its station in Corinna, ME, on the MEC's now abandoned Dover Foxcroft Branch. (It continued to serve the MEC as its freight office there after passenger service ended.) The box cars and the tank car are all also ex-MEC. The car on the track straight ahead is MEC#947, a 1930's era coach which was later converted to a MoW car. A second similar MoW car, MEC#949, is seen further down this track, and immediatly to the right (off trucks) is BML#14, an open vestibule former baggage/RPO built in 1897 for the Boston & Maine (ex-B&M#2328) and purchased by the B&ML in August, 1927, for $600. It was converted to a tool car in January, 1943, and retired in December, 1949, to become the carpenter's shop in the Belfast yard, the same function it serves today in City Point. The CPC, which includes almost two dozen pieces of ex-B&ML, MEC, and BAR rolling stock parked on the two tracks (each about 2,000') in its five acre private train yard, is the remarkable creation of veteran railroadman Mack Page, Sr., who was the fourth generation of his family to work on the B&ML.
