Central Vermont

The New England Central (ex-Central Vermont) mainline runs alongside VT 78 as it heads up through the Alburghs in the northern reaches of Lake Champlain. Amtrak's Montrealer used to run on this line, until replaced by the Vermonter in 1995, the day the CV became the NECR.
