Discouragement Pond

This is an unnatural pond 3/4 of a mile south of Sheepscot Station. Originally a beaver dam, an earth dam replaced the beaver dam to create this pond. The right of way here is under 3 to 5 feet of water roughly through the center of the photo. My father walked down there this summer and quickly called it "discouragement pond".
