This photo is of one of our dedicated volunteers hammering in a spike with what we call a spiking maul. This just shows everyone that we do actually lay track by hand. The guy that is spiking is kind of in blur because of how fast he ws moving. You can barely see Alna Center Station in the far back ground. This section of track still needs to be aligned, ballasted, and tamped before passenger trains can go on it.
