Bedford Depot

Former Boston and Maine Depot in Bedford, MA. Note the 2 order boards. This depot once stood at the junction of two Boston and Maine branch lines, both now abandoned. The Reformatory Branch was to the photographer's right and the Lexington Branch was to the photographer's left. It may have appeared otherwise if you visited Bedford after the line from Bedford to North Billerica was abandoned. A short segment of the Reformatory Branch was retained and appeared to be a continuation of the Lexington Branch. You can bike the Lexington Branch on a paved trail from here to the Alewife MBTA station in Cambridge.
