Southern New England Railroad Part 1

The Southern New England Railroad or the (SNE).

We are going on a ride back in time. To the year "1909".

this is a great story of the last great railroad war. But there were two railroad being built or "chartered" (The SNE and the Hampden Railroad both built in 1909) But what make the two line differet is the SNE was a canadian "grow" railroad part of the Central Vermont railway. And to what i read and research, The sole purpose was to give New England a choice and how they ship there product....

And the Hampden railroad was a joint venture between the New Haven railroad And The Boston & Maine Railroad. but during this time both railroad were undr the same family, and the line was built to connect the two railroad line...

as i post this photos of today SNERR i will add some history to. We will ride the old 1909 roadbed from Providence, RI to Palmer,Ma i will not put
it all out at one time! "SO KEEP I EYE OUT".....

Today in 2006 there is alot of roadbed, still there today.

my frist photo of the old railroad alinement is off of Dyer Ave in the town of Cranston,RI.....
