Hill Climb DramaA morning in early Spring of 2003 was still leafless, but showing signs of blooms to come out in western Massachusetts. At MP 129 on the CSX Boston Line, a very still last hour before noon that April day was to be interrupted by a distant throb of westbound EMDs under load. Into the curves came Q283 with a trio of SD40-2s in as many different paint schemes. The train was on its knees, hauling 100 empty racks up the grade at 7mph.
