Canaan Union Station - After The Fire

The Canaan, Conn., RR station, seen following a major arson-related fire in 2002. The left portion of the station was saved thanks to the local fire dept.,
and the culprits who started the blaze were caught and convicted. However, the remaining portion (left wing) stood deserted for years while efforts were made to raise money to rebuild the tower and right wing. I believe part of the station has been rebuilt, but I do not know if it is fully complete at this time. The so-called Canaan Union Station was built in the early 1870s to serve both the Conn. Western RR and the Housatonic RR. Color slide by John Bazan
