St. Johnsbury, Vt.

Most recently the NH&VT, this is the view of the former Mountain Division, looking east. It is a sad sight. There was some talk of opening the line back up. The paper mills to the east were possible shippers. However, in a very short time both mills in Groveton closed, along with the mill in Gilman and the big mill in Berlin. I cannot imagine the line ever being used again. Someday it will probably either be a forest or a walking trail. This line was legendary. It is sad.
