View from a train: Poughkeepsie Bridge

Standing like a guardian over Poughkeepsie is the former New Haven Railroad Hudson River Bridge. A portion of the bridge burned in early Penn Central days and it hasn't seen a train since. It carried freight from New Haven CT to Maybrook NY. Today it is being converted into a recreational trail.

We have reached the end of Metro North territory and from here up to Schenectady, we'll be in CSX's hands. In a few miles, we are delayed due to track work, and get into Albany about 30 mins down.
