488 at Maine StreetNothings screams Brunswick more than the First Parish Church. Established in 1717, it was the church of writer Harriet Beecher Stowe and Civil War General Joshua Chamberlain; I'd argue that it's the most recognizable landmark of Brunswick. Here 488 leads the evening westbound passenger train across Maine Street and by the church and a median strip decorated nicely with flowers.
