Insulated joint

Insulated joint bars on the east leg of the Ayer wye. Note the spikes with the heads out - can't put them in the right way because of the insulated joint, but even with the heads out they help keep things in gauge. Also note the strips of steel coming off the gauge face of the rail - rail burn. This rail is relatively new, but this is on a curve where a lot of starting and stopping happens.
