New England Wood Pellet

New England Wood Pellet siding in Palmer, MA. That's the end of CNWX 11093 with a nice blue flag sign hung on the coupler. This is a "rail-based packaging and reload facility". Which means they received covered hoppers full of wood pellets, suck them out through those shiny pipes, and bag them in those green bags stacked on pallets. Or at least they did between 2006, when they opened, and July 2008 when they closed.

Photographed by Ken Rice, August 25, 2007.
Added to the photo archive by Ken Rice, September 19, 2010.
