A bit of photo editing induced fill light makes it possible to see some detail in the shadow of the knuckle on GU 100. The cut lever on the far left is attached to a link (the locklift) that pivots at the back of the bottom of the coupler. The front of that link is visible just below the coupler body, and pushes up the lock, the top end of which you can see through right side of the hole in the coupler body. When the lock is down, as it is in this photo, it engages with the back end of the knuckle, which you can see to the left of it and with a protrusion below it. When you lift the cut lever, it pushes the lock up, allowing the knuckle to pivot on that large pin you can see the top end of at the extreme left of the coupler body, and the coupler opens. You can just barely make out the end of the key slot in the coupler shank.
