BMLRR Engine House in 2005 and after Demolition in 2011

This dual image shows the 1946 BMLRR Engine House in Belfast, ME, in July, 2005, shortly before the 1870 "Armstrong" turntable was removed and the yard torn up, and on June 22, 2011, the day after the structure was demolished to make way for a five story, 22,400 sqft facility in which to build and repair boats up to 150 in length. With its demolition, the Belfast waterfront is now without an engine house structure for the first time since the line opened in 1870.
