The Past Meets the Present

Back when there was still something in the window panes other than empty air and when the Wellesley Farms B&A station was still regularly staffed, this is the view that the B&A ticket clerk must have had when gazing out the windows towards Boston. But it's doubtful that they would have recognized the modern-day GE Evolution series and EMD AC locomotives that lead CSX L017 through the station, or the modern trailers and containers that pass through on revenue intermodal freights daily. But despite all that, sometimes it seems like the rails of the former Boston & Albany haven't changed much, as one can still stand inside the old station and watch freight and passenger action from the sidelines, heading to and from the same port city as it did many years ago.
