Pan Am Railways train SJPO passes milepost 100 at Burnham Junction, Maine on March 24, 2012. Located about halfway along District 1, Burnham Junction is the location where the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad once joined the former Maine Central mainline between Portland and Mattawamkeag. In another ten miles, the train will arrive in Waterville for a power swap and crew change before continuing on to Portland. The milepost number is also appropriate because it coincides with this, my 100th photo posted to the NERail photo archives.
