The Slumbering Alco

A former Alpha Portland Industries Alco RS3 is seen slumbering in the yard of the Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum at Lenox, Mass. on Sunday, August 26, 2012. The BSRM acquired this veteran Alco from a cement plant near Catskill, NY in June, 2011. The unit is reportedly in good running condition and will someday be painted in a NHRR-like paint scheme. It was built in 1950 for the Birmington Southern RR and was acquired by Alpha in the 1970s.
