They have just cut with a power saw the rail that everyone seems concerned with in the picture. This is the present main passenger track through the interlocling. This panel track has been waiting just off the grade crossing for this moment of installation. All of this is part of the Andover Double Track Project. The next track to connect will be the new east track.

In the background are the tracks that lead into Pan Am's Lawrence Yard.
