Leap Day 2004 at Worcester Union StationOn a gray February day, Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited, arrives OT at WUS to board passengers for points west. Amtrak 449's short consist of baggage car, coach, and dinette will depart 15 minutes late to allow a Q426 onto the P&W up to Guilford at Burncoat St. A Q425 train emerges from the St Vincent's Hospital tunnel (hopefully the OR isn't located directly above the tracks) pulled by a pair of newbie SD70MACs. About 10 minutes behind 449, Q421 out of Beacon Park passes WUS led by a gaggle of locomotives: an AC6000CW, a couple of SD40-2s, a UPSD70M, a C40-8W, and an ex-BNSF SD40 leaser.
