"The Northfield Siding"The New England Southern Crews hardly use the Northfield Siding and runaround track these days, but it is fully functional when needed. This past weekend, it was needed. While taking out the four cabooses and their three MOW hoppers off the River Siding by the Northfield Freight House, here they would do a runaround for 2555 to be on the south end of the cabooses, so the cabooses would be shoved back into the siding along side the freight house. The cabooses were moved to the River Siding late last summer as the Freight House was painted on the track side. Most of NEGS' MOW equipment was stored on the River Siding too, as they cleaned out Canterbury for the Military Train move. The 3 hoppers would go south to Canterbury later that day, while a couple of box cars and flat cars remained stored on the River Siding.
This was looking south towards the Sargent Street Crossing in Northfield NH.
