GMTX 318 in BurlingtonSaturday's (10/23) Burlington Switcher was moving a few cars around the yard, perhaps clearing the tracks in preparation for a couple of Amtrak Extra qualifying runs that were made on Sunday (10/24).
GMTX 318 is an MP15AC built in 1975 for the Milwaukee as their 497, it became SOO 1563, Canadian Pacific 1433, before being sold to GATX leasing, and became their 318.
Looking north from the Burlington Bikeway and Rail Buff safe picture taking platform, the drawbridge went over the former Pine Street Barge Canal. Safe to say, that bridge is not going to be raised anytime soon. This area also provides a great view into the City of Burlington. The Burlington rail yard is visible from the other side of the bridge. Other locomotives sighted in the yard included. VTR 201 (GP38-2) by the roundhouse. In the deadline, VTR 311 (GP40-2w) and MK 4304 (GP40) that's been pretty well picked for parts. CLP 802, (GP16) was to the right of the VTR World HQ.
VTR's other known end cab switcher on their locomotive roster (SW1500) resides in the Granite State for their New England Southern Division.
