CSX NA-1 345 by Mile Post N26 in ManchesterThe only good thing about the clouds was being able to get a good look at Mile Post N26 that stands behind a former signal cabinet just to the south of the West Mitchell Street Crossing in Manchester. The signals were removed in the spring of 2020, the pole on the right held replacement signal heads that were never put into service.
The NA-1 Crew was taking 345 and a total of 46, with a combination Merrimack empties and Manchester and northbound loads into Manchester yard. This was the first run up the Northern Main under new owner CSXT, as the railroad officially changed hands on 6/1.
This was MEC 345's first sighting on These NH Rails since May of 2016, and remains the only Pan Am 300 series GP40 rebuilt to GP40-2 standards. 345, along with 503 507, and 616 (now 3405) were shipped out to Kentucky for rebuilds in the mid 2010's as they were sold to GATX and leased back to Pan Am. All four locos were reacquired by Pan Am.
Good to see the colors of what is now considered a "Fallen Flag".
