The Vermont Bicentennial Steam ExpeditionComing into view north bound near Castleton, VT is the Vermont Bicentennial Steam Expedition. For the nationwide celebration of our country, the State of Vermont leased former Canadian Pacific steam engine 1293 from Steamtown in Bellows Falls, VT for a year to power a Bicentennial expedition train. During the year of 1976 the train logged 13,000 miles touring Vermont.
