NA-1 503 by the former Marina in Tyngsboro

After taking a transformer load north to Nashua Yard, here was the NA-1 Crew as they headed south towards North Chelmsford with 503s, 517n, and at least 30 empties. This was by the former marina in Tyngsboro alongside Route 3A.

503 would remain as the power for the Nashua Crews, while 517 was moving on. The left leaning Pan Am lettering on the Engineer's side of 517 is the sign of earlier pre-2010 Pan Am paint work. Surviving 307, 326, 350, 506, and 516 also have this same unique left leaning lettering. After 2010, the painted locos have the Pan Am lettering leaning to the right on the Engineer's side. A feature worth noticing.

503 was one of four Pan Am locos sent off to Paducah Kentucky for a rebuild in the mid 2010's, Built in June 1974 for CN as 9466 and classified a GP40-2L. 517 was built in April 1976 as CN 9660, a GP40-2.

Since early October 2022, the former CN wide-nose-cabs have been very common sights on "These NH Rails".
