Last years of the Cheshire Branch which gave Steamtown its start. Operations shifted from Keene to North Walpole thanks to the the still intact yard with operating turntable, roundhouse and coaling tower not to mention the yard for the Steamtown collection. I think B&M was still operating a regular milk train via the Cheshire.

Awesome, historic photo at an out of the way location! Yes, according to Jeff Wilson's book "Milk Trains and Traffic", the B&M carried the last raw milk shipment by rail on the Cheshire in 1972.
