SOUTH BOSTON, MA

View of South Bay Junction looking timetable direction south at the Dorchester Branch (toward Readville).. Track off to right is the Boston Freight Terminal Branch??? I need some help here on clarification on what photo shows, such as building on left with what looks like a caboose in doorway.

Visitor Comments about this Photo:

If that's the Dorchester branch to Readville, then this is Cove Junction I believe. The track to the right is the loop going around the Widett Circle Produce Mart. The track going left behind the photographer is what is known today as "Track 61" heading to the South Boston freight yard and the one on the right is heading north to South Station. The building on the left is where Amtrak's maintenance building is now located but I don't know that it was at this time.
