Deerfield River Valley.

A westbound, about to cross the Charlemont/Rowe town line as viewed from Florida, Massachusetts. (About three units and four cars past the turn for the old Florida bridge.) Comparison with my July 1962 shot is proof that; "you can't go home again".

Photographed by Ken Patton, November, 1976.

Very nice! Haven't been out their in years. A little color still on the trees.

I love that late fall look with the oaks reluctant to give up their russet leaves and the train winding its way along the narrowing Deerfield River Valley through what comes closest to the "wilderness" in Massachusetts. I can almost hear the sound of that trio of 567 prime movers interrupting the peace. Long live the Hoosac Tunnel Route!
