Arguably the most 'scenic' place to get a picture of CSX's Nashua Local in Concord, overlooking the historic Concord Gasholder Building.

Even though the Gasholder was taken out of service in the early 1950's, the structure and tank inside remain intact after all these years. It's been stated that this Gasholder Building the only one of its kind left in the US that has not been modified for other purposes. It's very fortunate the efforts to preserve the structure have been successful.

The Concord Yard Tower is out of sight to the right of this picture. While CSX had planned to demolish the building, a local movement was able to hold off the wrecking ball due to the Yard Tower's historical significance. The Yard Tower is basically a brick and cement shell right now, as the interior was gutted, along with the windows. The slate shingles on the roof were removed last summer leaving the exposed plywood to the elements.

MEC 505, along with the current roster of ACSES/ATC equipped wide-nose-cabs 507, 515, 516, and 518 have been used as regular power for the NA Crews in the latter half of 2023. 502 is also equipped, was sighted here many times before it was leased to BERX. The Christmas Wreath looks good next to the 505's "Blue Meatball" Pan Am logo.
