PC 8416 SW-1 making switching move on USPS Flexi-Van at South Station. This is near the end of PC handling storage mail cars and Flexi-Van mail traffic. Traffic was switched over to TOFC moving on PC (piggyback) Van Trains. Note that one of the flexi-Vans is PRR. Another story to be told of 'Flexi-Van service on PRR.
Also note "buffer plate" (my term) over coupler that were put on switcher units used in passenger car switching. This was to protect the operating lever and coupler pin.
