Batten Kill Rail Road -- Thursday Evening May 19, 2016In one of their largest moves of hoppers in recent years, the Batten Kill Rail Road showcased a real "whopper" to finish out the fertilizer season. After spotting loads at Carovail and sorting the outbound empties at Greenwich Junction into CSX and NS blocks for PanAm Southern interchange at Eagle Bridge, the southbound "monster" of 22 cars has just lumbered through Shushan NY after the 6PM dinner bell, with much work yet to accomplish. The solo RS-3 #4116 is equal to the task, but there will be some "creative" switching in Eagle Bridge later to shoehorn the cars into what will prove to be "capacity" for this outbound colossus.
