The Cape Cod Central Railroad's Shoreline Excursion Train On July 19th, 2014

Photographed here is the MC 2009 stopping just past the historic railroad station located in West Barnstable, Massachusetts on the Cape Main Line to pick up a few passengers. Behind it is the Cape Cod Central Railroad's Shoreline Excursion Train, with the SLRG 2400, two Saratoga and North Creek double - decker passenger cars, and the MC 2010 in tow. This train originated out of the Hyannis Railroad Depot located in Hyannis, Massachusetts, and returned about two hours later after concluding its trip to the Cape Cod Canal. Lastly, the locomotive for today's run was a rare Electro - Motive Division (i. e., an EMD) GP28 numbered 2009, with a build date of November of 1964. Moreover, it was originally numbered 9439 as a switcher engine for both the Chicago Central & Pacific Railroad (i. e., CC) and the Illinois Central Railroad (i. e., ICG), before it was eventually acquired by the Massachusetts Coastal Railroad sometime in May of 2009.
