Once a BIG MAC, Now a Rebuilt PONY!

This former UP "Big Mac" (SD9043MAC) has been rebuilt with a newer EMD cab externally, and lots of important electrical upgrades internally. Norfolk Southern calls this rebuild an SD70ACU.

This is this the first appearance of one of on the largest locomotives ever built, in this rebuilt form, in Bow that was one of the four engines that powered NHB-09, the incoming loaded coal train.

Taken by the Ferry Road crossing looking north. The crew of the 7282 brought out the empties from the plant, perhaps waiting for a recrew to go south, hook up the remaining three engines, and depart Bow..

The SD70ACU is rated at 4300hp, and for those with a tape measure, is just over 80 feet in length.
