The structure to the left is crossing tender's shack - the gates were manually operated (into the 1980s. It's interesting that in Amtrak's early existence, it used PC's ex-NH Geeps to operate New Haven - Boston passenger trains. The passenger car PC 7134 is ex-PRR parlor car "Johns Hopkins" which was delivered in the early 1950s as part of the Congressional train sets.
