WOLFEBORO, NH

End of track at station used to be at the Mount Washington Boat Dock. In 1961 the ties were still visible under pavement by Dockside Resturant (In 1961 I was the "short order" cook there for the summer at 90 cents an hour. The next summer I was a spare yard clerk for the B&M at 2.50 an hour!)

I do remember washing dishes for $1.00 an hour in the summer of 1969, midnight to 8 AM at the Speedway Diner in Nazareth, PA. Not the good old days - I was supposed to be properly grateful when the owner gave me a raise of 10 cents an hour after 2 months. Maybe that's why I was happy to go away to school for my senior year in Exeter that fall!
