The Engineer's name was Duffney
and his home terminal was East
Deerfield

This was a distinctive B&M engineer's hat one could still buy in a department store in White River Junction. Note that he is dressed in suit and tie with the coveralls over it all. Despite it being a steam engine, his was regarded as a white collar job due to his skill and responsibility level.
