How to start a guilford engine... Starting a a Guilford engine is quite a sight. Notice the initial burst of smoke which, in part two, gave way to the secondary blast of oil smoke. Notice how that oil smoke sunk to the ground like a rock. What fun! Photographed by Fred Bliss, October 5, 2002.
