Visitor Comments about this Photo:

This is also Day 1 or Day 2 of the Bradford operation. This was the first coal delivery from the coal dealer in Warner and the ramp was not high enough to reach into the coal pocket so most of it went on the cab floor. Next delivery found the coaling ramp high enough. #47 here is on the Bradford freight track which allowed box car unloading at ground level. Forward of #47 was a box car full of supplies where I slept on occasion. I eventually was able to wangle a guest fireman's opportunity with Nelson as my engineer. "Panther Pete", an ex-CV engineer and Clyde (Master Mechanic) were often in the cab plus Fred Richardson was in evidence.
