Pre-Valley RR Daze 1

Excursion sponsored by Conn. Valley chapter of the NRHS enters New Britain on a Hartford-Waterbury-Derby Jct. round trip with what would eventually become VRR #97 in charge. The 97 was built by Alco/Cooke in Nov. 1923 as a "stock" loco and sold to the Birmingham & South Eastern as their #200 in 1926. After leading an uneventful life in Alabama, the engine was purchased by New York businessman Stephen Bogen in 1964.
