Pre-Valley RR Daze 2

97 approaching Rt. 72 grade crossing just west of Forestville. Although Mr. Bogen was affiliated with the Empire State Railroad Museum, the 97 was moved to Vermont to run on the newly formed Vermont Railway. Since the VTR already had a loco numbered 200, the Ex B&SE 200 was renumbered to 97. Still sponsored by the ESRM, the 97 ran a few times in 1965, but competition from the nearby Steamtown of F. Nelson Blount fame was too much.

Photographed by BandAfan, October, 1966.
Added to the photo archive by Carl Weber Jr., October 29, 2003.
Railroad: New Haven.
