Pre-Valley RR Daze 397 and train pause at Terryville station. Since the New Haven RR was open to the idea of running steam powered fan trips over it's rails, Mr Bogen decided to move to Connecticut and the 97 went to Hartford. In association with the CERA, this was the first fan trip sponsored by the NRHS. Mr Bogen and Bill Zaiser of the CERA wanted to establish a more permanent operation, "along the lines' of the Strasburg RR. This idea and the burgeoning 97 volunteer group evolved into the Connecticut Valley Railroad Association.
