USRA #3 - Maine Central Nov 1918 Time Table Extract

The four 1918 time tables I have are all printed on very inexpensive paper, much like news print. This was an economy measure. This graphic exract suggests using scrip to purchase tickets. Scrip was used like money for some products & services. By limiting the quanity of 'scrip' printed the Government gained some control over the demand for these goods and services thus freeing up public resources for the WAR effort.

Unknown photographer November 11, 1918.
