North Track

The Newport Secondary Track runs for 13 miles North from downtown Newport to the Sakonnet River. This photo shows some of the nice scenery along the Narragansett Bay. The Mass Bay Rail Enthusiasts enjoy this scenery on their 'Rhode Ireland Limited' excursion every year on the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day. Every year, the Old Colony & Newport Railway volunteers spend many hours clearing the brush on North track to make this run possible.
