McAllister's Point

The area to the right, which sits on the edge of the Narragansett Bay, was originally used as a picnic area when the railway was built in the 1800s. During the early 1900s, the westside of Aquidneck Island was taken by the US Government for military use. This location became the Naval Base Dump. It has recently gone through environmental mitigation. Someday it might be a picnic area again!
