The westward trip was with Engineer Ernie Kissinger, who brought No. 93 down from Boston and took it to New Haven. John Springer took over in New Haven, and brought the train safely into NYP - Penn Station, New York. Another crew took over there (to Philadelphia (PHL)), and a fourth crew handled it from Philly to the District of Columbia (WAS).
Ernie was Boston-based. He took the job this day after being bumped up because the regular engineer, Ron Soltys, had Red Block duties back in Boston. Ernie owns the No. 173 job.
