Passing Sunnyside Yard, Queens

Sunnyside Yard in Queens is where Amtrak services all of its city-based trains. John takes a peek at the afternoon AEM-7 line-up. It's hard to see, but the speed indicator is showing 125 mph. Springer is a tell-it-like-it is, no-nonsense guy who doesn't want anyone in the cab calling signals. When I told him I was riding just to get pictures, he asked me which train I would be taking east. I told him first one out, he checked his timetable: it would be No. 86.
