Retired ex-MEC MoW cars in the B&MLRR yard at Thorndike, ME

A number of retired ex-MEC MoW cars are seen here being stored on yard sidings on both sides of the B&ML line at Thorndike, ME, (MP 21.4) heading toward Unity and Burnham Junction. The MOW work cars and caboose on the left are old MEC equipment while the car on the siding on the right is an ex-BAR refer. Visible in the distance on the right is a single bay engine house standing on the site of the former passenger station. Unfortunately, there is currently no freight or passenger service running on this venerable135 year old line.
