Die Hard Big Blue

Nearly a year into its ownership of Conrail, CSX colors still hadn't totally taken over the fabled B&A.
With memories of Conrail leading the intermodal and autorack industry only a memory, the sights of Big Blue leads were still a special occasion for many a railfan in the Northeast. In May of 2000, one Q264 blasted out of State Line Tunnel in Canaan, NY with two C40-8Ws on the point. Only the road number gave away recent changes of ownership.

Photographed by Jeff Bray, May, 2000.
Added to the photo archive by Jeff Bray, October 13, 2007.
Railroad: CSX (Conrail).
