April Fool's Luck

Lack of perfect weather did basically nothing to keep fans from pursuing the first Powder River coal job to Bow, NH on April 1, 2001. Following a memorable chase from Elnora, NY, the train is seen here rolling past a waiting EDRJ at the mouth of East Deerfield Yard. True BN "executive" SD70 widecabs led a "stealth" NS unit and their loads toward a crew change.

Photographed by Jeff Bray, April 1, 2001.
Added to the photo archive by Jeff Bray, December 2, 2007.
Railroad: Guilford (B&M).
